Left Vilifies Indiana “Good Samaritan” Who Stopped Would-Be Mass Shooter
Washington, D.C.: “In the wake of 2022’s mass shootings, the left is quick to dismiss the argument that ‘good guys with guns’ is the answer to stopping evil,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Political liberals will say that situation never happens, but a young man this weekend proved them wrong. The sad part of this story is despite his selfless, heroic actions, the left is vilifying him as part of the problem. The truth about their worldview they reveal in this criticism is quite telling.”
When a would-be mass murderer opened fire in a Greenwood, Indiana mall food court this weekend, a legally armed 22-year-old citizen drew his weapon and returned fire, killing the gunman and putting an immediate end to the further loss of innocent life. Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison said that “The real hero of the day is the citizen that was lawfully carrying a firearm in that food court and was able to stop the shooter almost as soon as he began.”
Martin continued, “A long line of local voices and government officials echoed Chief Ison’s words, including even the ownership of the Greenwood Park Mall. The left’s reaction, however, has been despicable! They view it as disgusting to think that using violence to stop violence is an acceptable solution.
“I have a newsflash for these useful idiots of the left: the only thing that will stop evil individuals in the act of harming others is righteous men and women harnessing violence in defense of the innocent. Conservatives need to be bold ambassadors in our culture for the principle that armed, law-abiding civilians are the single greatest defense we have against the evil desires of depraved young men. There is no more aggressive pro-life stance than to lawfully arm good citizens to stop evil with an equal or greater force.”
