Washington, D.C.: Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry have uncovered what they describe as a “vast ‘Censorship Enterprise’ across a multitude of federal agencies.” They have identified forty-five federal officials in agencies contained inside the Department of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services that colluded with social media platforms to squash “misinformation” that was contrary to the official narrative about Covid-19.
“There’s never been a better definition of ‘collusion’ than the emails Attorneys General Schmitt and Landry have released,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Their litigation and discovery in court has given us plain, black and white proof that the social media and Big Tech behemoths took marching orders from the federal bureaucracy to censor the free speech of Americans.
“We aren’t particularly shocked to finally see the proof of what we’ve known for some time, but it’s still disgusting as ever to see the words on the page. I pray for the protection and continued good work of these two state officers, and I’m calling for a swift gutting, defunding, and cleaning house of a few more major federal agencies. A new Congress must exercise their authority and power of the purse to check this out-of-control executive branch that is raging against the Constitution. They must be stopped.”
