St. Louis, MO: “Since taking office, Biden’s administration has rampaged through the executive agencies, enacting every social experimentation the left can dream up,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “One particularly sinister plan comes from Biden’s executive order on ‘Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation.’
“This directive, enforced through the Fair Housing Act by HUD, puts many religious schools and organizations directly in the crosshairs of the leftist agenda. College of the Ozarks in Hollister, Missouri, decided to fight back! Already they are facing great opposition.”
Just this week, the school’s motion for an injunction from the new directive while their federal case is pending was denied by a federal court. While disappointed in the lack of support for temporary relief, “Hard Work U” President Jerry Davis vowed “We expect to appeal so that schools are not forced to open women’s dorm rooms to males and violate their religious beliefs. We will not abandon our mission. The fight to protect our religious freedom has just begun.”
Martin concluded, “Religious entities need every bit of support we can give as they fight not only activist courts but now the entire weight of the executive branch coming against them. Our freedoms are on the line. We must stand up and support courageous groups like College of the Ozarks who are willing to fight for religious liberty!”
