Panel established to uphold religious freedom worldwide brought to an end
Washington, D.C.: Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has officially ended the Commission on Unalienable Rights, which was established by the Trump Administration to advocate for religious freedom throughout the globe. Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles said “Freedom of religion is a fundamental human right, truly one of the primary reasons America exists as a nation. President Trump made clear that he understood this truth. His Commission on Unalienable Rights worked not only to protect this right for American citizens but to help persecuted religious people worldwide.
“Quite opposite is the Biden administration’s vigorous commitment not only to throw out concern for the right to practice religion freely, but instead to force manufactured rights that fit their narrative. Secretary Blinken and the Biden Administration have with one hand pulled away their support for religious minorities and with the other are foisting the unwanted, so-called ‘right’ to abortion on impoverished countries.”
Martin concluded, “This is a truly devastating shift in policy, one that removes our position of positive leadership and influence in the world.”
