Democrats must stop obstructing necessary government functions for the sake of politics and partisanship; Republicans shouldn't join them.
St. Louis, MO: The Senate Foreign Relations Committee is expected to vote today on whether or not to favorably recommend CIA Director Mike Pompeo's Secretary of State nomination to the full Senate body.
"Mike Pompeo has an excellent resumé and has already made incredible strides for peace on the Korean Penninsula," said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. "He is an excellent choice that is already proving his diplomatic strategies and successes. Senate Democrats (and Republicans who join them) shouldn't obstruct a qualified and solid candidate for the sake of political games or mid-term electoral grandstanding.
"We encourage all Republicans on the committee, especially Senator Rand Paul, as well as any willing Democrats to send a favorable report on Pomeo's nomination. He represents the anti-globalist agenda of President Trump while displaying incredible skills and knowledge in creating and maintaining friends and allies across the globe. His nomination should be confirmed quickly."
