Not So Fast on Ousting EPA Head Scott Pruitt
St. Louis MO: In the last 48 hours, the mainstream media's dislike of Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt has escalated to a declaration of war. Long-time bureaucratic cronies and elites in the media are piling on against Pruitt, taking pot-shots at him on everything from policies to staff salary decisions to his room rental in D.C.
"Scott Pruitt is a tough conservative who has been very effective so far in dismantling much of the oppressive Obama-era EPA policies," said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. "Many of the stories of the last few days are absolutely silly, quite literally nickel-and-diming him over ridiculous things.
"Why do the leftover Obama bureaucratic cronies so badly want Scott Pruitt out? Looks like he's being a little too effective for them! Pruitt is rolling back the EPA and I'm all for it.
"The hypocrisy that Americans must understand is that Democrats both in Congress and in the bureaucracy that are criticizing Pruitt now for underpaying rent, overpaying staff, or anything else are being wined and dined by special interests, lobbyists, and government money every day of the week!
"Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are banking on the fact that we will fall for their distractions and schemes. We simply can't let them get away with it. We must stand up for Scott Pruitt and his work to drain the regulatory swamp."
