Washington, D.C.: The Phyllis Schlafly Center welcomes the Bring Our Troops Home push to our nation’s capital November 12-13. A bipartisan delegation of veterans and state legislators from 24 states will arrive in D.C. to brief and persuade Congress to support the president’s efforts to put an end to endless wars in the Middle East, bring our troops home, and return to a correct constitutional process of going through Congress before putting our American service members in harm’s way.
“Phyllis Schlafly Eagles across the country are fighting for many important causes, chief among them our Constitution and the military men and women who defend it,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Bring Our Troops Home, founded by Sgt. Dan McKnight, is right on target. They recognize the folly of endless (and fruitless) nation building in the Middle East and are committed to returning our nation to a proper constitutional process of sending our military into action.”
The Phyllis Schlafly Center will host a Congressional briefing and informal working lunch by Bring Our Troops Home on Wednesday, November 13, from 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. ET. Several state legislators who are working in their own states to make these changes will brief members of Congress and their staff. This is one of many events the group is hosting next week during a two-day span in D.C.
“President Trump has shown he is willing to lead on this issue,” said Martin. “He understands the dangers of foreign entanglements. It’s time to bring our troops home from endless wars and return to the Constitution. This isn’t a Republican or Democrat issue — it is an American issue. People across the political spectrum support this initiative, and we are excited to host this excellent briefing.”
This event is open to media and Congressional staff on an invitation basis. To attend, email joanna@phyllisschlafly.com.
