Washington, D.C.: The Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania has ruled that Act 77, the 2019 voting law signed by Democrat Gov. Tom Wolf, is unconstitutional and void.
“This is great news and a huge win for election integrity and voter confidence,” said Phyllis Schlafly Eagles President Ed Martin. “This new law was a centerpiece of the election chaos that unfolded in Pennsylvania last year. “Several states chose to unwisely expand their mail-in ballots, some even going so far as to mail unsolicited ballots to every voter. Pennsylvania’s Act 77 was a step in that direction, bringing in a record number of mail-in ballots that were not cast under the watchful eyes of duly appointed election judges.
“What’s worse is the law was in blatant violation of the election procedures laid out in the Pennsylvania constitution! This is a sound decision from the Commonwealth Court! I pray it’s just the beginning of measures around the nation to boost voter confidence and secure our fundamental electoral processes.”
