Washington, D.C.: “PayPal signaled their entrance into the censorship police this weekend with a new policy that they scrapped almost as soon as it was announced,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “PayPal released an update to their terms of use, including a shocking change to their ‘acceptable use policy’ (AUP) that authorized them to fine users $2,500 for spreading what they deem ‘misinformation.’
“This new AUP is absolutely outrageous, and was met with the uproar it deserved. PayPal has already signaled their loyalty to the globalist elites, taking action to ban several important dissenting accounts in the UK just last month. This new company-wide policy, however, signals the new and drastic economic punishments that they are willing to go to in silencing the proponents of freedom.
“Thankfully this AUP was abandoned before even one day had passed, but make no mistake: this was no ‘accident’ as PayPal claims. This is a major reveal of the hand we know is coming! The radical, authoritarian statists are coming with financial and economic punishments to those who would speak against them in society. When Chase Bank cancels accounts of political figures they disagree with and PayPal will fine you for breaking with the government line, you know we’re in a bad place. We must stop this terrifying march toward the supremacy of the state! The victory over PayPal is only temporary, as the information war intensifies every day. Good men and women in every branch of government must act now to bolster our constitutionally guaranteed rights. Time to take legal and legislative action against Big Government Marxists and their private sector partners.”
