“This Happened” documentary details how Phyllis Schlafly out-maneuvered and out-organized radical feminists and told the truth to Americans.
St. Louis, MO: In a stunning and truthful admission last night, liberal network MSNBC admitted that the Equal Rights Amendment ratification initiative is DOA and would have to be passed again by Congress.
“Truer words have never been spoken: the equal rights amendment simply failed to pass the basic amendment process, even with an unconstitutional time extension from Congress,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “ERA failed to be ratified by the 1979 deadline and even by the 1982 extension, which was given without precedent.
“The simple fact is, the Equal Rights Amendment isn’t about women’s equality. The Constitution does not mention sex, it refers to all individuals, and U.S. laws have protected issues like equal pay and equal opportunity for decades. It’s already the law. The ERA would serve only to insert vague and ambiguous text into the Constitution that is a lawyer’s dream to sort out in court.
“The next step for the feminists who wish to damage our Constitution is to pass a new ERA out of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives — both with a 2/3 majority vote. Can you really imagine 2/3 of the swamp agreeing on anything? Seems like as big a pipe-dream as the Green New Deal!”
MSBNC’s “This Happened” got another thing right in their reporting: Phyllis Schlafly truly is the greatest American conservative leader. She had the wisdom and foresight to warn people about this terrible amendment and how it would hurt, not advance, American women’s rights and choices. She beat the ERA, she helped shape Reagan’s conservative policy, and she helped pick Donald Trump as the eventual 45th President of the United States. Her legacy and positive impact on American will never be forgotten.
