Left Credits Phyllis Schlafly Eagles for Key Point in Census Case

Washington, D.C.: The census citizenship case before the Supreme Court right now is the biggest of the year, and liberals are crediting Phyllis Schlafly Eagles for providing the key argument for a conservative victory.  The Eagle Forum Education & Legal Defense Fund files many amicus (friend of the court) briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court. Our EFELDF brief filed in Department of Commerce v. State of New York scored big, according to liberal Slate magazine, which credited (blamed) us for it.

During oral arguments on Tuesday, Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh all referenced information and arguments that were urged by the EFELDF amicus brief.  Liberals are furious.

“The Left likes to cite international law, but most other major nations collect citizenship data in their census processes,” said Andy Schlafly, legal counsel for Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “We hoisted them on their own petard this time.  Conservative Justices ran with our argument in support of including a question about citizenship on the census.  We hope for a big majority and victory for the American people!”
