State Cannot Mandate Corporate Board Makeups by Sex
Washington, D.C.: “It may seem silly that we even have to praise this, but in the most recent ‘wave’ of feminist chicanery, the silliness abounds,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “A Los Angeles judge has ruled that California’s landmark law requiring a quota of women on corporate boards is unconstitutional. Judicial Watch, a wonderful conservative legal group, was behind this victorious legal challenge.
“It’s amazing this law lasted even three years on the books before being struck down, and by a Los Angeles judge, no less. Even in California, sexism is getting kicked to the curb. I am hopeful that this wave against woke-defined fairness will spread across America.
“I am mindful of the Supreme Court’s expected opinion on a challenge to Harvard University’s race-based admission standards. Picking winners and losers based on intrinsic characteristics rather than on hard work and merit is about as un-American as it gets, whether you are talking about college admissions or corporate advancement.”
