Few threats to the American family are as insidious as the rise of radical transgender ideology. Before this fad entered the national scene, a man who claimed to be a woman or a woman who claimed to be a man would be diagnosed with the psychological disorder “gender dysphoria” and receive psychological treatment to help them overcome it. As leftists so often do, they introduced a new ideology to the mainstream by calling for us to change what language we use. Rather than giving the afflicted man or woman the help they needed, we’re told to affirm their delusion by using the pronouns that they prefer.
At this point, the conservative movement was left with a choice: either we could hold fast to reality or we could capitulate just a little bit with the hopes that more people would vote our way if we were nice to them. I think you can guess how that went. Once leftist radicals convinced us to start pretending that men could be women in our conversations, they kept pressing forward. Suddenly, we had to pretend that men could use women’s restrooms, locker rooms, and showers. Then, we had to pretend that men should be allowed to participate in women’s sports. With each passing day, our nation slipped further and further down the slippery slope of radical transgender ideology.
The radicals are still not satisfied. Now they are coming for our children. Using the full weight of the office of the President, Joe Biden has made it his mission to push this dangerous ideology on younger and younger children. In a statement on the so-called “Transgender Day of Visibility,” the White House openly called for us to cut off a young boy’s genitalia if he claims to feel like a girl.
As we deal with the reality of this national disgrace, let’s not forget where this all started. We would not be where we are today if more people had refused to let the left control what language we are allowed to use. Consider this a tragic case study in leftist tactics. Hold fast to the truth, and don’t take that first step on the slippery slope to destruction.
