Washington, D.C.: President Ed Martin of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles issued the following statement:
“Masked men entered the free Epoch Times presses in Hong Kong yesterday and set fire to the facility. It seems to be the latest in a long line of disturbing intimidation tactics from the Chinese Communist Party against free speech and a free press. The CCP’s crackdown is an abhorrent violation of their promise to maintain freedom and autonomy in Hong Kong. It is an affront to liberty and free societies across the globe. The Epoch Times is an excellent and honorable example of a free, transparent press. This latest attack on their work must be condemned by all free peoples, particularly leaders in the United States.”
