St. Louis, MO: In an interview on Legal Speak Podcast, feminist lawyer Brenda Feigen admitted that the Equal Rights Amendment is constitutionally dead and legally useless due to protections for women already in U.S. law. She also criticized the FX Network Mrs. America show as heavily fiction.
“Brenda Feigen is just the latest in a long line of feminists who admit that the ERA expired,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Just like Justice Ginsburg, Gloria Steinem, and others, she recognizes that the constitutional deadline for ERA passed decades ago. Unlike her counterparts, though, Feigen admits something Phyllis Schlafly said all along. ERA is wholly unnecessary — equal pay and every other right the feminists of the 1970s purported to protect with ERA are already protected in U.S. law.”
Feigen blasted the FX Network show as well for heavily fictionalizing its content and ignoring their opportunity to contact her and portraying her likeness without her consent in the making of Mrs. America.
