Washington, D.C.: Each year, the Eagle Forum Education & Legal Defense Fund (an affiliate of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles) honors the legacy of Phyllis Schlafly with a dinner celebrating her work on intellectual property. This year’s event, titled “The Road Back: Restoring American Patents,” will feature a dinner program with many prominent guest speakers, including a special keynote by U.S. Patent and Trade Office Director Andrei Iancu. This dinner program is open to the media.
“We are grateful for the wonderful legacy of Phyllis Schlafly,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “She was a tireless defender of strong intellectual property rights, though many don’t realize this was a key issue for her. Phyllis understood the central role patent rights play in our nation and their importance to the framers of our Constitution.
“We are grateful for this year’s sponsors, partners, and the Members of Congress who will join us. We are particularly thankful for Director Iancu’s willingness to address this important issue at our third annual dinner.”
