AOC Says Impeachment is Necessary for Democrats to Win in 2020
Washington, D.C.: Less than a week after accusing Republicans of making impeachment a “partisan issue,” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez admitted on CNN that’s exactly what Democrats are doing. “We have to be able to come together as a caucus,” she said, “and if it is this Ukrainian allegation that is what brings the caucus together, then I think we have to run with however we unify the House…. This is not just something that has occurred; this is about preventing a potentially disastrous outcome from occurring next year.”
“Democrats’ blatant politicization of the impeachment process is despicable,” responded Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Impeachment is a very solemn congressional duty and a constitutional tool. It’s not about liking or disliking the administration’s policies. Democrats are plainly admitting that this impeachment will unify their caucus and help them beat Trump in 2020.
