The Left Has Made Political Prosecution And Blatant Double Standards the Norm
Washington, D.C.: “The indictment of Donald Trump is a historic embarrassment for America,” said Phyllis Schlafly Eagles president Ed Martin. “Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has been gunning for the left’s chief political opponent since he entered office. He’s managed to cling to a case so thinly manufactured that even the DOJ, the Federal Election Commission, and Bragg’s own predecessor in NYC chose not to pursue. The ‘Must Get Trump’ syndrome is alive and well!”
“What is most disturbing, however,” Martin continued, “is that Bragg’s success in obtaining a ludicrous felony indictment has done major damage to the gate that safeguards our justice system from being weaponized against political opponents. What’s more insulting is that he has spent countless hours trying to whip up bigger offenses against his political opponent while downgrading criminal charges in his own district and plainly refusing to do his job in keeping violent criminals off the streets.
“This despicable double standard has permeated the American political left. President Trump is their biggest pariah in a long line of prosecutorial abuse. They have vilified him and manufactured every imaginable crisis around America First followers, simultaneously ignoring every grievance against their own political followers.”
Martin concluded, “Look no further this week than Tennessee, where the left and their media mouthpieces have quite literally shifted blame and conferred victimhood onto a cold-blooded killer. Even yesterday their own anti-gun, pro-trans activists stormed the Tennessee Capitol, disrupted official proceedings, and shoved around Tennessee troopers! It looked an awful lot like what the left has defined as an ‘insurrection,’ yet this time around they’ve made sure to tell us it was just a ‘peaceful protest!’
“Horsefeathers to their definitional swaps and horsefeathers to their prosecutorial abuse against an active candidate for President of the United States. How long will America allow a political activist and his mega-donor puppet masters to parade around as ‘public servants’ and use taxpayer money to shove their fists on the scales of elections and justice? This must stop now.”
