Washington, D.C.: Moments ago the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voted to recommend the confirmation of Trump administration official Neomi Rao as the federal judge to the United States Court of Appeals D.C. Circuit. She would take the seat vacated by Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
“This vote is yet another step toward returning the American judiciary to it’s original role,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “We look forward to Ms. Rao’s timely confirmation by the Senate body. She is a qualified and ready individual who will serve our judicial system well and bring a check against the rampant judicial activism that continues to plague our nation.
“I am also grateful for the thorough leadership of Josh Hawley in questioning nominees and verifying their stance on the Constitution. As much as we want Trump’s good nominees through, we must also have legislators who do their research, ask hard questions, and represent their constituency before the D.C. power structure. Josh should be commended for his work, not attacked.”
