House, Senate Raise Debt Ceiling, Install Funding Past Midterm Elections
Washington, D.C.: “The House and Senate have again managed to avoid the ‘disaster’ of having to put our financial house in order,” said Phyllis Schlafly Eagles President Ed Martin. “Chuck and Nancy (with Mitch McConnell’s assistance) shoved through a $2.5 trillion hike to the debt ceiling and continued government funding past the 2022 midterms. The electoral convenience of this situation should escape no one!
“It’s business as usual in the swamp — incumbent Democrats and Republicans have given themselves flexibility to argue and point fingers during election season without having to put in real work on our nation’s problems. McConnell even cut a deal to ensure this passed all while his caucus could claim no Republican voted ‘for’ this train wreck. Despicable! It’s no wonder Americans have totally lost faith in our institutions of government.
