St. Louis, MO: After the great news out of the U.S. Senate yesterday on invoking the nuclear option, we are grateful for the leadership of those who stopped this Democrat obstructionism. The legislation that ended the endless Democratic filibusters was S.Res.50 – introduced by Missouri Senator Roy Blunt and Oklahoma Senator James Lankford.
“We are very grateful to Senator Blunt for his leadership on this issue,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “There are far too many vacant federal judgeships with fantastic nominees waiting to fill them. Democrats have obstructed the process and spent two years successfully blocking Trump nominees from lower federal benches. But no longer will this problem plague the judicial system, in large part due to the leadership of Senator Blunt.
“Phyllis Schlafly considered Sen. Blunt a friend and a worthwhile public servant. She endorsed him many times for his races and she supported his good conservative policies. She would be happy with this great vote in the Senate yesterday.”
