Washington, D.C.: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiled a new 1,119-page bill today that purports to deal with the Chinese coronavirus. In reality, however, it is fraught with overreaching and election changes that would make the 2020 elections ripe for Democrats’ stealing.
“In the midst of this national emergency, Nancy Pelosi and her Swamp cronies are attempting to shove through federal control and funding to rig federal and state elections,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “We are already balancing adequate response to this pandemic with appropriate government action. Democrats, however, are content to stir up panic and use it to railroad Congress with a vile, anti-American agenda.
“Chief among the troubling parts of this legislation would be the federal funding of elections, establishing audits of election results, and mandating same-day registration, fifteen-day early voting, no-excuse absentee vote-by-mail, and ‘mailing a ballot to all registered voters in an emergency.’ These are all the primary tools Democrats use to trample our free and fair elections.”
This legislation shows the total lack of concern Democrats have in protecting American people and businesses. In addition to their proposed election controls, this bill includes tax credits for solar and wind energy (we’ve seen that Obama trick before), special treatment for Big Labor, and new emissions standards on airlines. Who are Democrats kidding? Democrats obviously aren’t letting this crisis go to waste.
