Washington, D.C.: U.S. Customs and Border Protection released astounding May numbers for illegal crossing apprehensions. Nearly 150,000 illegals were apprehended. The total for this year is quickly approaching three-quarters of a million illegal immigrants. This surge prompted a 10% jump in the 2019 predicted number of illegal border detentions.
“The humanitarian crisis at our border is causing breakdowns at every level,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Our system cannot handle this influx. Illegals with no credibility and no accountability are flooding to every corner of our nation. TSA is even allowing them to board domestic flights without any form of ID. President Trump and Congress must address this immediately. Our borders must be sealed. Mass deportations must be enabled. Mexico must be held accountable for letting these thousands of migrants pass through their country.
“Both the executive and legislative branches need to act now to defend our American sovereignty. The safety of our citizens is at stake. This crisis can’t wait any longer.”
