Senate Dumping Dollars Faster than the House Can Dump Documents
Washington, D.C.: “Establishment hacks in the Lame Duck session are doing their best to give a huge lump of coal to the new Congress,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Democrats in the House were already trying to subvert the new GOP majority coming in next month, shifting their paper trail to the Department of Justice so it’s out of reach of Jim Jordan.
“But now the Senate RINOs have leaped into the fray, trying to shove through an omnibus appropriations bill that would fund the government for the next year. It’s absolutely outrageous that we would allow the Lame Ducks to rob the incoming Congress of their job to control the purse strings. This is a power move by outgoing members and it should be soundly rejected, especially by every Republican in either chamber. This is Big Government at its worst: shirking transparency and accountability to We the People.
“I pray that every constituent floods their House and Senate members’ offices and emails with demands to vote no on any such omnibus funding. Shame on Leader Mitch McConnell and any Republican who would help lead gross abuse of power.”
