Washington, D.C.: The Democrat-controlled House of Representatives is expected to pass H.R. 6 “The Dream Act” today. This bill would come at an incredible cost to taxpayers. Even worse, it would fan the flames of our already overburdened illegal immigration system.
“This Dream Act is pure political messaging. Democrats obviously have no desire to actually govern,” said, Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “It has no chance of being considered by the Senate and it clearly won’t be signed by President Trump. Congress refuses to take up many proposals the Trump administration has put forward to deal with DACA recipients.
“American taxpayers should not have to pay $35 million for the privilege of helping immigrants exploit our immigration system. It’s a bad deal and a poor excuse for policy solutions. All members of the House who value commitment to their constituents should vote no on this irresponsible bill.”
