Washington, D.C.: As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, America is faced again with a decades-old problem: our reliance on Communist China. The Chinese Communist Party is doing everything in their power to shift responsibility for this global outbreak onto the United States.
“The latest travesties from Beijing’s arrogance and incompetence are inexcusable and insulting,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “It’s high time U.S. leaders take Red China to task on not only mishandling this health crisis, but also decades of channeling illicit drugs into the United States and abusing our open trade. While many leaders like Phyllis Schlafly never shied away from calling out China’s actions against America, government leaders usually just ignore the real problem.
“There are leaders now like Sen. Josh Hawley (MO) who are ready and willing to take the fight to China by making our chief adversaries accountable for targeting the U.S. with their propaganda and bad policy. Sen. Hawley needs support — from the American people and his fellow leaders in Congress and the White House. America needs leaders who understand we must end our deadly dependence on China, especially their manufactured medical products. We need leaders who will act immediately against the Chinese Communist Party and protect all Americans from this threat.”
