Washington, D.C.: Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight and is visiting the border today at El Paso, Texas. She is painting a grim but real picture of the crisis at our southern border. From economic immigrants lying to pose as refugees to the using and recycling of children to pose as fake families and get more adults across the border, smugglers and gangs are creating chaos that is nearly impossible for our border control to manage.
“We have reached the breaking point,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “The White House and other executive agencies could not be clearer on the humanitarian crisis and lawless activity happening at our southern border. The evidence is readily available, and to ignore it at this point is really to wish ill on our nation and its citizens.
“We urge President Trump and agencies like Homeland Security to use their available tools now to solve this crisis. Congress is failing to act — and the American people cannot afford our executive agencies waiting on Congressional gridlock. We urge President Trump, Secretary Nielsen, and members of both parties and both houses of Congress: act now to address the border crisis and to protect the safety of your citizens.”
Sec. Nielsen’s full interview detailing border crossing activity can be found here.
