Washington, D.C.: Today the Democrats of the House Oversight Committee are hosting a veritable circus act in place of a hearing. Admitted and convicted liar Michael Cohen has been given a platform and false credibility by Democratic Leadership to tell tall tales about his time with President Trump.
“This is disturbing and embarrassing for the United States House of Representatives and for the Democratic Party,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Reps. Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows hit the nail on the head yesterday in a joint op-ed, saying ‘giving Cohen a congressional platform is a disservice to the public, an affront to our democratic values and flat-out offensive to anyone who seeks the truth.’
“Democrats are making a mockery of the job of House Oversight by entertaining a man who’s lied to Congress and is headed to jail for years for financial fraud. It’s a sad day for Congress – but the American people won’t be fooled by this sham of a hearing. Finding truth didn’t make it on the committee leadership’s agenda today.”
