Congress Spends Another $1.5 Trillion
Washington, D.C.: “Instead of addressing skyrocketing costs on Americans, Congress has passed another $1.5 trillion spending bill to ‘avert a government shutdown,’” said Phyllis Schlafly Eagles President Ed Martin. “Instead of safeguarding and stabilizing our economy, the establishment elites of both parties are printing monopoly money to feed their spending addiction.
“This $1.5 trillion package included billions in foreign aid, and just narrowly avoided billions more in a new round of Covid handouts. Thankfully the handouts were dropped, but Democrats have already said they won’t let those slip off the radar.
“Joe Biden may talk a big game on cutting the deficit, but his administration continues to throw money at every problem in lieu of offering solutions. Printing more money is the surest way to send inflation sky high and devastate the wages of every working American.
“Already, reports show that the average American family is shelling out an extra $300 a month due to the increase in goods and services. We must unleash the American oil and gas industry instead of spending more on foreign aid and foreign oil. Let’s lift burdensome, unnecessary regulations and allow industry to provide more jobs and better wages. Let’s cut federal spending and balance the budget so the dollars in our pocket stop devaluing.
“It’s time to bring Congress back to the Constitution. We need more free market — less funny money and federal reserve tampering. We need more paychecks, not federal payouts! Listen up Congress: balance the budget! Stop the spending!”
