Washington, D.C.: “As Title 42 expires today, the Biden White House is leaning on the wisdom of the Trump Administration to try to address this mess of their own creation,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Since Joe Biden isn’t likely to brag about enacting Trump’s policies, I’ll boil it down for him: asylum seekers will be disqualified from applying here if they didn’t first seek the protection of countries they have traveled through on their way.
“This is one of the key Trump-era policies that gave radical immigration activists the most heartburn, and yet here it is again almost word-for-word from the Biden Administration. They’ve also flooding the border with thousands of National Guard troops. Of course, these reinforcements are supposedly being sent to help with paperwork, not actually guard the border and stop the onslaught of illegal crossings.
“Biden’s ironic shift to Trumpian policy would almost be laughable if the crisis weren’t so tragic. It’s time to impeach the secretary of Homeland Security and remove him from office. It’s time for Senators regardless of party to take a stand. It’s time for real and meaningful accountability on this executive mess. The American people need leadership now.”
