Vast Majority of Voters Say Drill Here Now, Congress Says Ban Fossil Fuels
Washington, D.C.: “We all know that Congress is out of touch with America,” said Phyllis Schlafly Eagles President Ed Martin, “but sometimes just how far removed they are is astounding. The progressive Democrat caucus and the latest poll of Americans couldn’t be more opposite on the looming energy crisis.”
The Trafalgar Group found that more than three out of every four Americans believe President Biden should make “domestic energy production a priority.” That figure includes more than 2/3rds of Democrats, over 3/4ths of Independents, and nearly 90% of Republicans! Less than 10% of those polled said no to domestic energy solutions.
“Democrats in Congress are taking a radically different approach to energy than what everyday Americans want,” Martin continued. “The Congressional Progressive Caucus released a set of executive action recommendations this week for President Biden, notably calling on him to restrict the production and use of traditional fuels. While the world markets surge and Americans are facing a crisis at the pump, liberals in Congress want to ban domestic traditional fuels. This policy isn’t just foolish, it’s plainly meant to destroy our American economy.
“This agenda for executive action proves just how desperate Democrats really are! It’s obvious they see electoral doom in their future this fall, so they’re ramming their agenda through now by brute executive power.
“Voters of every political persuasion know better! The left is about to get an electoral shellacking, but before then, we must be vigilant and active to stop their subversion of the Constitutional legislative process. Drill now! Drill here! Give Americans relief at the pump and save our economy.”
