Free Speech, Religious Liberty, Intellectual Property, Federal Power, Affirmative Action Will All Face SCOTUS Scrutiny This Term
Washington, D.C.: “The 2022-2023 U.S. Supreme Court term kicks off today and it promises to be packed with major opinions,” said Phyllis Schlafly Eagles President Ed Martin. “This week the Court will hear arguments that consider federal power in the Clean Waters Act, a redistricting case that balances federal and state powers on elections, as well as a massive challenge to affirmative action in higher education.
“Considering just this first week’s topics, it’s safe to say we’re in for a wild ride this year. I look forward to more decisions that will deliver respect for and a return to our beloved Constitution. The left has lost their de facto backup legislature with recent Court shifts, and it’s been wonderful to see a return to sound jurisprudence.
“Rest assured the Eagles will be looking at this term from every angle, both submitting briefs to the High Court and mobilizing the grassroots in the wake of future decisions.”
